저자(글) Harman, Graham

미합중국 아이오와 출신의 철학자이며 현재 로스엔젤레스 소재 남가주 건축대학교(SCI-Arc) 철학 특임교수로 재직 중이다. 1999년에 시카고의 드폴대학교에서 철학 박사학위를 취득한 후에 2000년부터 최근까지 카이로 소재 아메리칸대학교에서 철학을 가르쳤다. 현대 철학의 사변적 실재론 운동을 선도한 핵심 인물로 널리 알려져 있다. 하이데거와 라투르를 기반으로 하여 객체의 형이상학에 관해 연구함으로써 발전시킨 객체지향존재론(OOO) 덕분에 『아트 리뷰』에 의해 세계 예술계에서 가장 영향력이 있는 인물 100인 중 한 사람으로 선정되었다.
