저자(글) Terry Deary

영국 출생. 배우와 연극 연출가를 거쳐 지금은 어린이책을 쓰고 있다. 영국에서 120여 권의 책을 출간했고, 그 책들은 28개 언어로 번역되었다. 『Horrible History』 시리즈는 그의 대표작으로, 전 세계 어린이들의 열렬한 사랑을 받고 있다. 2000년 선덜랜드 대학교에서 교육학 박사 학위를 받았으며, 고향인 선덜랜드의 홍보대사로 활동하고 있다. 2011년에는 소설 '불을 끄다'로 셰필드 칠드런 도서상을 수상했으며, 2012년에는 권위 있는 카네기 메달 후보에 오르기도 했다.
