저자(글) Delanda, Manuel

1952년 멕시코에서 태어났다. 과학과 문화에 광범위한 관심사를 갖고 군사학, 언어학, 경제학, 진화론, 카오스 이론, 자기조직화 문제, 비선형 동역학, 인공지능, 인터넷과 건축 등의 다양한 분야에 관한 글을 써 오고 있는 철학자이자 저술가이다. 질 들뢰즈의 저작에 초점을 맞추어 온 그의 글은 현재의 과학적, 철학적 문제를 사유하는 데 들뢰즈의 실재론적 존재론을 어떻게 활용할 수 있을지 탐색하고 있다. 그는 또한 1970~1980년대에 여러 편의 실험영화를 제작한 예술영화 작가이기도 하다. 현재 컬럼비아 대학교 건축대학원 조교수이며, 지은 책으로는 War in the Age of Intelligent Machines(1991), A Thousand Years of Nonlinear History(1997), Intensive Science and Virtual Philosophy(2002)와 A New Philosophy of Society: Assemblage Theory and Social Complexity(2006)가 있다.
